PITTSBURGH (AP) - Kimberly Beck scored 19 points and No. 16 George Washington gave coach Joe McKeown his 500th career victory, relying on two pivotal first-half runs to beat Duquesne 73-65 on Saturday night.

McKeown, the Colonials' coach since 1989, is 432-151 in 19 seasons at the school after winning 68 games in three seasons at New Mexico State. McKeown is the 34th Division I coach with 500 or more victories.

McKeown broke out of a tie with former Maryland coach Chris Weller and now has the most Division I women's coaching victories in the DC Metro area.

Jessica Adair scored 17 points, Whitney Allen had 14 points and eight rebounds and Antelia Parrish added 14 points for the Colonials (18-4, 6-1 in Atlantic 10).

Kristy Lane led Duquesne (11-11, 2-5) with 16 points, making nine of 12 free throws, and Jade Singleton and Jocelyn Chandler scored 12 each.

Beck had an off shooting night, making only 4 of 17 shots, but was 9 of 11 from the foul line - including two free throws with 31 seconds that effectively put the game out of reach.

George Washington broke out of a 6-all tie with a 13-2 run led by Parrish's seven points. Duquesne answered with a 7-0 run, but George Washington immediately came back with 10 consecutive points to push its lead to 29-15. The Colonials were in control after that, leading 62-49 at one point in the second half.
