ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -Christina Wirth scored 18 points to lead Vanderbilt to a 61-54 win over No. 17 Georgia on Sunday.
Jennifer Risper added 13 for Vanderbilt (16-6, 5-2 SEC), including three free throws in the final minute when Georgia (16-6, 3-4 SEC) was trying to rally.
Tasha Humphrey led the Lady Dogs with 17 points and nine rebounds before fouling out with 1:29 to play. Ashley Houts scored 13.
Georgia took a brief lead at 44-43 with 8:13 to play but the Lady Dogs went eight minutes between field goals and seven minutes without a point.
The loss was the third straight for Georgia, only the third three-game losing streak in Andy Landers' 30 years as head coach. Georgia started 13-0 but has lost six of its last nine games.
