PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -Mi-Khida Hankins went 4-for-4 at the free-throw line in the last 11.1 seconds and scored a career-high 22 points and Providence College upset No. 22 Syracuse 62-58 Tuesday night.

Hankins, a freshman, scored 12 of her points in the second half as the Friars (12-13, 2-10 Big East) snapped an eight-game losing streak and prevented the Orange (19-6, 7-5) from winning a 20th time for only the third time in school history.

Providence shot 90 percent (18-for-20) from the free-throw line and was 9-for-9 in the final 4:11. Syracuse made only 61.8 percent (21-for-34) of its free-throw attempts.

Emily Cournoyer added 16 points for the Friars.

Chandrea Jones led Syracuse with 17 points and Fantasia Goodwin added 12.

Providence's Brittany Dorsey and Shantee Darrian each made two free throws for a 58-53 lead with 1:09 left.

Syracuse countered with a layup by Goodwin and one free throw by Vaida Sipaviciute, but Hankins followed by hitting four free throws to clinch the victory.

The Friars led 28-27 at halftime even though they committed 12 turnovers and went 6:15 between baskets.
